I'm starting to book the shoots for my Survivor project. Starting to get stories from women. It's hard. It hurts my heart. But it's so important. I have a great tribe of supporting women and a great therapist. De-briefing is important. I am also really incredibly humbled by the trust these women are putting into me to capture them at their most vulnerable. And also at their strongest. How blessed am I???
This is also the very first blog post of ANY kind that I've ever done. It feels weird.
Be patient with me. xo

I've shot several women for the Survivor project. It's difficult for me to try and put into words how humbling it is to meet these women (I don't know all of them) and have the privilege of taking portraits of them.
As I was editing tonight, I started to have a different experience.... I started to feel exhilarated and empowered by the images on my screen. The power and fierceness is incredible. I have never felt surer of anything in my life as I do about this project/journey.

Back from 10 days on Maui, where I was honored to do a shoot with two different women. As well as do a lot of personal introspection and healing. It was glorious to spend so much time in my church - ocean and trees. The Survivor project becomes clearer to me every day. Wish me luck as I apply for a grant to help make this a reality!

Thank you to all those supporting Survivor Project through GoFundMe. It allowed me to go back to Detroit and photograph nine incredible women who are sharing their stories with the world. Such courage and fierceness! GoFundMe also donated $250 to the project this week as well - Survivor Project was nominated for their "Giving Back" program. I'm so honored and humbled to be doing
I'm also super excited to be part of a RAW showcase on March 20, here in Portland at the Roseland Theater. It's a multi-discipline art PARTY! You can purchase tickets through this link:
